The Other Side

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. - Revelation 22: 1-5

Today’s Reading: Malachi 1-4; Revelation 22

Dear God,

I’m now seeing the Promised Land that you showed Moses. Or rather the Promised Land that perhaps you have for my life. It is the other side of the journey of faith that I talked to you about before.

The other side of the journey of faith is the place we land once we have taken the leap.

It Doesn't Cost Anything

He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. I am the Beginning and the End. Anyone who is thirsty may drink from the spring of the water of life. It doesn't cost anything! Anyone who overcomes will receive all this from me. I will be his God, and he will be my child. - Revelation 21:6-7

Today’s Reading: Zechariah 13-14; Revelation 21

Dear God,

This whole chapter of revelation really struck me hard but this verse hit me the hardest; especially this sentence: “It doesn’t cost anything!”

When I read it, it immediately struck me as true.

Which "Spiritual Leaders" Should We Trust?

The idols speak deceitfully,
  diviners see visions that lie;
they tell dreams that are false,
  they give comfort in vain.
Therefore the people wander like sheep
oppressed for lack of a shepherd. – Zechariah 10:2

Today’s Reading: Zechariah 9-12; Revelation 20

A few months ago I saw a really impressive guy speak. He was there to teach on words of knowledge and he did so by actually conducting a workshop. For the uninitiated, “words of knowledge” is one of the spiritual gifts. Someone who moves in this gift can know specific things about another stranger’s past in a supernatural and specific way that would be impossible without having met them before.

Let me tell ya… he was impressive.

From the Bride to the Groom

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” – Revelation 19:7

Today’s Reading: Zechariah 5-8; Revelation 19

Dear God,

I see that we are the bride of Christ; but when I first heard this I thought it was one of the stranger things I had ever heard. As a man of course it is strange to think of myself as a bride. I was raised to think of protecting, serving and providing. So what is the role of the bride? What am I to do?

An Open Letter: God Sized Goals

‘ Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the LORD of hosts.  – Zechariah 4:6

Today’s Reading: Zechariah 1-4; Revelation 18

Dear God,

With all of these God Sized Goals that You have swimming around in my heart I’m realizing more and more how true this verse is.

I cannot do anything without you.

God Sized Goals

Then Haggai, the LORD’s messenger, gave this message of the LORD to the people: “I am with you,” declares the LORD. So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God, on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month. – Haggai 1: 13-15

Today’s Reading: Haggai 1-2; Revelation 17

Have you ever felt that God was telling you to do something so big that it seemed impossible? I know that I have.
