Therefore this is what the LORD Almighty says:

The Holy Spirit Don't Play That

Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God."

When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. Then the young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. Acts 5:3-6

Whoa whoa whoa!!! Hahahaaaha

Ok… Ananias ain’t laughing but good gracious that’s severe. So if you remember in my post about how Marx would have been proud of the early church I talked about how the early church was basically like a socialist community. Everything was shared by all, and as a result, everyone’s needs were met.

Well… Ananias had another idea.

Dude and his wife sold some of their land and only gave a fraction of the money to the whole and kept the rest. And how did Peter find out? The Holy Spirit told him.

What a snitch that Holy Spirit is.

But the cold part is that when he was confronted about it and told about his error old buddy dropped dead right there!!!

So you might be wondering, what is the message here? Don’t lie? Follow through on your promise? Don’t cheat the folks who are down with the Holy Spirit?

Shoot… your guess is as good as mine.

But one thing is real clear… The Holy Spirit don’t play that. You better come correct son!

It Wasn't Me

Today's Reading: Genesis ch 4-6; Matthew ch 2

The fall of Adam is kinda funny…

Okay… I guess it’s not funny from the whole fall of man perspective. But after we get past the obviousness of that I can’t help but to laugh at dude. Here’s what I’m talking about:

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?" He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." - Genesis 3: 8-12

How lame is that? “the woman you put here with me”…. Really dude?

Step your game up.

Come on Adam. You can do better than that. It’s funny how he clearly was guilty but he tried to take zero percent of the blame. At least in the story the serpent had to reason with Eve and convince her to take a bite. Adam on the other hand, ate what was put in his face.

We gotta be better than that.
