The Bond of Perfection

Over and over again in the Bible we hear this instruction to love one another. Why is this so important?

It is because love is the bond of perfection. In loving each other we glimpse just a hint of what God's love is for us. As we dare to love we allow God to knit us ever closer together in spirit.

Oh what transformations we will see in our lives, in our communities, in our nation, in our world when we relent and open ourselves to love!

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. (Colossians 3:12-15 NKJV)
