“If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. (Deuteronomy 15:7, 8 NKJV)
God please give us a heart like your heart to care for those in need. Please give us the wisdom to know what others need and the means to provide it.
We know that all that you have given us is not ours alone. You have trusted us to be good stewards over our resources so that our blessings will be used to glorify you and to bless the world around us. So help us by softening our hearts and give us the courage to act in love. We trust that anything that you all us to give will be given back to us pressed down, shaken together and run over.
