Truth > Comfort

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” - John 8:31-32

Sometimes the truth hurts. Sometimes it seems easier in the moment to run from what is true toward what is comfortable. But, no matter how far we try to run from it we can never escape the truth because it surrounds us. It is the foundation that our world sits upon. Illusions only last so long.

The easy way in the long run is always the way of truth. The small hurdles we avoid in the short term when we run from the truth lead us on paths toward huge mountains of pain and struggle in the end.

No matter what we choose, whether it be the wide, low road or the narrow, high road all paths end up leading us to the same truth. It is up to us to decide how we get there and what life will be like on the other side.
