An Open Letter: God Sized Goals

‘ Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the LORD of hosts.  – Zechariah 4:6

Today’s Reading: Zechariah 1-4; Revelation 18

Dear God,

With all of these God Sized Goals that You have swimming around in my heart I’m realizing more and more how true this verse is.

I cannot do anything without you.

For the longest time I was scared to really pursue these goals that you placed in my heart. Much of that time I beat myself up for this. I thought that it was because of my cowardice that I was unable to move forward with the plans I had in my heart. I looked at the mountains of obstacles and wondered how I’d be able to scale them with my bare hands.

But now I see that I don’t have to scale them. Through obedient faith in You I will move them out of the way.

‘ Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’” – Zechariah 4-7

I’m still not here yet God. I don’t yet have the faith to tell a mountain to become a plain, but I see that it is true. I see that through building my faith in you through obedience the time will come when crooked paths will be laid straight, mountains will be hurled into the ocean, and I’ll be able to fly toward my destiny with Your wings.

Day by day I just want to take a step closer to You. Please continue to make those steps clear to me. Help me to have the strength and courage to take them obediently without delay.

And when I get to the first finish line help me to see that it is just the next mile marker in the eternal race to realize the purpose that we all have, which is to be more and more like your Son.

  2. Did you know that in this portion of the scripture in Zechariah, Zerubbabel is the governor and a type & shadow of the Holy Spirit? He and the high priest named Joshua (Hebrew the same as Jesus in the Greek...God is Salvation)

    Haggai 1:14
So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

  3. I had a feeling that something up with him so what did I do? I pulled out the trusty 3 in 1 companion! haha. He's yet another one that I would like to study even more. Thank you for confirming that for me!
