Freedom from Shame

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV)

There is no place in our lives for guilt to take root. Our hearts should not be fertile ground for it to blossom.

Why? Because Jesus paid the price for all that we have done, are doing and will do. All we have to do is receive Him in faith as our savior, admit that we need saving.

We cannot achieve freedom on our own.

From this place of vulnerability comes freedom from guilt and shame. Once guilt and shame leave we become free to go and sin no more because we are no longer reminded of our imperfection. Instead we are focused on Jesus' perfection and how that perfect love has already saved us.

  1. Great thought. I never considered all the 'room' that would be left if guilt and shame left me. Another good reason to let go, and let God!
