But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (II Corinthians 3:18 NKJV)
Remember my friends that there is nothing that you can do in your own power to make yourself "better" or more "holy" or more acceptable to God. That work has already been done by Jesus! When the Father looks upon us He sees His Son.
This is what we inherit by faith when we choose to believe in Jesus. We inherit His goodness and righteousness because we become filled with it through the Holy Spirit. This is our earthly inheritance when we choose to become His sons and daughters.
So rest in the confidence of His love for you. And as we learn to rest in Him and receive that love we will look back and see that we HAVE changed! But it wasn't that we changed ourselves. It was the love of God working in our lives that changed us.
