What You Do Matters

Nehemiah 3:4 NIV
Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired the next section. Next to him Meshullam son of Berekiah, the son of Meshezabel, made repairs, and next to him Zadok son of Baana also made repairs.

When Nehemiah was led by the Lord to rebuild the gate he didn't do it alone. There were many families that helped in this arduous task. At the time when they were doing the labor some may have felt that their contribution was small or insignificant but not to the Lord. God made sure that they were remembered thousands of years later in the Good Book.

While you are sitting at your cubicle or doing work that you feel is thankless and unappreciated remember that your God in heaven sees you.

Take heart and know that while it may seem that you are not appreciated by man you are definitely seen and appreciated by God.

Ephesians 6:7-8 NIV
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
